The exhibition reconstructs the genesis and the evolution of Antonio Canova’s teste ideali, idealized busts in which, at his career high, the sculptor scrutinizes the variations of the beauty. Some thirty heads stand face to face along the itinerary in a game of gazes through a progressive formal astraction culminating in the figure of the Vestale.
A similar abstraction process drives the communication design focused over the image of the Vestale, eventually producing a peculiar tactile cover for the catalogue.
